“What is your desire to hit your goals?” In August, one of my Referral Partners gave me an amazing gift of seeing David Neagle live. David’s focus is on mindset. This is a question he posed to us.

One of my passions is personal and business development. A wise coach of mine, Diana Kikoska, says, “Your business grows to the extent that you do”; and it is my conviction that personal growth and business growth are interconnected. As a business coach, I feel it is part of my responsibility to continually grow and improve my own skills and mindset, so I can continually help my clients grow. I also invest in my own coaching. A coach needs a coach. My personal business coach is David Joud (just answering that one before you asked!).

Sometimes hearing the same thing in a different way will create that “aha!” moment when the concept is cemented in the mind. Just as we sometimes need a different combination of words, we need to hear the same thing multiple times.

Hearing similar information, thinking about things over and over, or even “spaced time repetition” is one of the keys to engraining a thought so that it makes an actionable impact on what we’re working to achieve. David Joud uses this concept to help me with what we work on together. I use this with my clients… you know, that “immersion” thing I keep talking about.

I’d like to share with you an excerpt taken straight from my personal notes from my David Neagle experience. This passage gave me inspiration as well as motivation:

“What is my desire to hit my goals? Your life is about creating your dreams. Everyday it’s a choice. It’s a choice to do it or not to. How much do I really want what I say I want? What are we filling up our 24 hours with? Be in the moment of your life now. Are you moving your life and others forward? Desire needs to be nurtured. It needs to be worked on. Life of self-improvement.”

Was it the repetition or the word choice that struck me? I’m not sure.
